Stainless steel systems for ecology
High-tech, sustainability, safety, and reliability are the watchwords of the Abrams Eco line dedicated to ecology, which guarantees maximum recovery and recycling of multi-material waste. We have designed and built a complete system for sorting municipal waste from the separate collection of mixed solid waste (plastic and metals), known as multi-material waste, which is presented in plastic bags. The plant has the potential to process a quantity of 3 quintal per hour, and was delivered turnkey to sort multi-material, producing homogeneous plastic and metal waste in compliance with the specifications set by the client.
Bag opening and initial sorting
In the large bag opener, the bags are emptied and their contents pass onto the conveyor belt, about 10 m long. The multimaterial passes to the rotating sieve, approx. 4 m in diameter, equipped with very robust wheels supporting the carrying cylinder. A first separation occurs in the sieve: smaller items fall down, while larger items, as well as bags, plastic and metals, move on to a manual sorting plant.
Second sorting
After passing through the sieve, the material moves to the main sorting conveyor and this operation is carried out manually by 6–8 operators who, after removing large bags and waste not compatible with production, sort the material into sacks. Compared to competitors' plants on the market today, we have focused on energy saving and automated the plant as much as possible, managing to operate, for the same weight, with 6/7 units while similar plants require 12 to 15 units. Consumption is 35 kW compared to competitors' approximately 70 kW.
